Paint vs Pixels

“They can’t print what we paint. They print pixels.”
Here’s a good look at the dying art of painted advertisement murals, and it’s pretty amazing to see. Admittedly I never really thought about this topic until I watched this short documentary, but I now realize all of the billboard/building advertisements in my city (Chicago) are all of the printed variety. Is there a benefit to having a real painted ad vs. a digitally printed ad? I think it adds value, and these guys do amazing work on such a grand scale. Wonderfully shot and great commentary here.
