Romain Gavras doesn’t direct shiny, pretty videos. He provides an artistic portrayal of senseless violence that many never see in this world.

I’m not one to post music videos much, but I felt inclined to include one of my favorites from a few years back called “Stress” by Justice. I was reminded of it recently after watching M.I.A’s new video, Born Free, which caused controversy by showing a young kid getting shot in the head. Both music videos are directed by Romain Gavras, who knows how to make violence and pure thuggery somehow artistic. This video in particular, includes the person behind the camera to be part of the story that is done really well.
